We have been here almost two hours. There is literally NO ONE at a desk. Did they all take a break at the same time? Same pee schedule?? Who TF Knows?!?!?! All I need is a replacement of my DL and I'm expected to come ready and prepared but NOOOOOO can't have the same expectations of the people here! Glad my tax dollars are funding such amazingly sub par services.
This is the new DPS office in Killeen located almost right across Shoemaker HS. The building is clean because it is brand new but the service and long wait is horrible. By 9am there are like 60-70 people already in the waiting area with only 6 station open. I was only needing a card replacement because I lost my DL and they don't offer that service to request a replacement online. Yet, they offer online to change of address and they mail your DL. It would be convenient if they do have a service online that also needs a replacement due to damage or DL lost to avoid a long wait and less inconvenience. Please kindly improve your service and the timeliness.
I arrived at 10:25 am now it is 3:17 pm. Just to get a dl replacement. I am still waiting!!!!
The reason the wait times are so long is about 80% the public's fault. When you arrive at the new office in Killeen you are given forms to fill out, and given a piece of paper that tells you what the state requires are proofs of identity, social security, and residency and all other requirements. The problem is that the majority of the general public doesn't even open the pamphlet that tells you what you need to have, nor do they fill out the paperwork they are given, so when their number is finally called because of the inept management at this office, the employees have to sit there and wait for the person in front of them to fill out the forms that they've had in their hands for 2+ hours, and dig through their purses, bags, folders, etc to find the documents that they should have already had IF they would have read what they were supposed to. This is the main reason for the long wait times, the office does need more staff, but if the public would do what they are asked to do this wouldn't be such a problem. The public is holding things up, and the management is just very poor at this office. it's clear whoever is in charge of this office has no clue what he or she is doing. Get better management, hire more employees, and hold people responsible for not being prepared. Once you have been waiting for more than 30 minutes and your number is called and you don't have anything filled out and no documents ready, then you should have to start all over. it's not the rest of the people in the office's fault that you weren't prepared, and shouldn't be penalized.
Nice facility, horrible wait times. Place is always packed and never enough staff to meet the demands. Take the day off from work, you will wait at least half the day on any given day.
