Friendly staff, gentle with my dog. Responsibly priced services. We've been going there for 2yrs.
I've been trying for a few days to get my pet in to get vaccinated, I've been there early in the morning when they first open but still have to wait over an hour or two so they put me on the wait list but he never gets seen because there is a people already in front???? This place seems disorganized or the staff just doesn't care or something.. Save your time and spend the extra $$ to actually get your pet seen at a different vet.
I used to joke most people who work with pets tend to have either good customer service skills and bad animal handling skills, or horrible people skills and excellent animal handling skills. It's not very often you find someone with both skill sets. That's why most great pet related industries have the pet people in the back and client-oriented individuals at the front desk.
Fortunately I was able to get my dog into Texas Vets for Pets before the deadline to neuter was required on my adoption contract.
The second time I was using a voucher from the shelter we adopted from. Fasted my dog overnight, arrived, and then waited in a small waiting area that was quite claustrophobic. The girls at the front seemed rude to some of the customers, and had no phone etiquette skills whenever the line was ringing. When it was my turn to hand over my dog, the male tech was the sweetest individual that was there. I let them know to call me an hour prior to pick up because I was going to be out of town on business so I'd have enough time to leave and be back in town to pick him up. After 3pm I received a call to urgently get my dog in 20 minutes. I told them I was in Belton but I'd be there before their cut off time. Before hanging up I was told my dog wasn't neutered, so that automatically made me upset as the information was given in a passive statement.
This place provides vaccination for pets at very affordable rates. There will be a wait up to an hour or more depending on how busy they are. But it is worth the wait.
Emancipet should work a little harder on their employee requirements. Every time I've seen a booth being worked at an event or dealt with these two times, the staff looks like girls fresh out of high school with barely any customer service experience. It's almost like it's an inconvenience when someone walks in and makes them work. I never experienced the vets or the techs in the back, so I can't say much on that end.
Regardless, what works for most doesn't work for all. I'll stick with places that haven't left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
Finally they bring my dog out to the front and tell me to bring him back tomorrow. I don't have family or friends to rely on to pick up or drop off my dog. I made arrangements a few weeks prior for this appointment. Being the small business owner of a mobile grooming business, I can't just take time off whenever I want because I lose out on money that is scheduled a month in advance most of the time. I got my got into the car and saw he was a nervous wreck. That's a lot to say for my usually nonchalant special snowflake corgi mix.
Emancipet has a good mission for providing low cost vaccines and altering, which is why there are stars. Many people have had great experiences with them, but I have yet to. After two experiences, I'm done trying.
Arrived there in 40 minutes and I'm stuck waiting for other people who are picking up their post-op animals. I was given attitude from the girls at the front when I asked for my dog who wasn't neutered. I just wanted to get him home and give him food and water after being fasted for over 15 hours at that point.
Extremely good people! Its a wonderful organization, but it is WAYYYYYYY busy! Arrive early and expect to be here a long time.
I've been here twice. Once for vaccines that never happened due to the wait. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to their opening. Signed up on the sheet and sat and wait. Almost 3 hours passed and we watched two people go in who arrived after us. I asked when we would be next and were met with an attitude by a younger blonde female. They were walk up only that day, yet we were still 4-5 down their list. We decided to leave because it was getting too hot and decided to wait a couple of weeks for Vanguard to travel through.
