Amazing property manger and amazing people around the Area
This apartment complex is by far one of the wprst ypu cpuld ever rent from. From the so called maintenance guys to the tenants they are trash and drug addicts and or drug distributers. I was there for a while because it was easy to get in and thouhht it cpuld be good for atleast a year. I was wrong...in that year my ac kept leaking causing flooding to my living room carpet, after 6/7 attempts m supposedly them fixing it it still flooded my apartment reaching to my room. Then all the pipes were backed up and i had flooding in my bathroom floor leading to my room once again. My kitchen sink would clog up and they never fixed that correctly either. I begged them to shampoo my carpet because it smelled disgusting and i was having a baby...they didnt shampoo it until after a week when he was born so i couldnt even be at my own place until 2 weeks after. Then once the nighbor upstairs flooded/clogged their toilet and the water came through the ceiling down to my bathroom and filled the bathroom ground and soaking the entrance of my room. The next door neighbors would smoke heavy marijuana and it would smell all in my apt through the walls/piping they supposedly replaced. All my clothes and my nbs clothes smelt like marijuana. They don't maintain the complex and definately don't care about the tenants. I still can't believe they raised their rent by 100 dollars they didnt make any renovations. Do not rent from here ever. Summer park and villa del rey...they are trash.
They are not the huge luxury apartments like across town. They are basic and extremely well kept for a good price. The residents are a good mix of military and civilian and there is actually a nice little community feel. Everyone will talk to you and there have been more than a few group bar-b-ques in the quad. The staff is awesome. On the couple occasions where something went wrong in the apartment, they were there immediately and went WAY out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. The only drawback I can think of is that the laundry facility is borderline in size. If you caught it at peak times then there were not enough machines. Once I figured out a good schedule of when they were open, I had no issues.
If you are looking for a nice affordable apartment, close to post, then Villa Del Rey is definitely a case of you get more than what you pay for. If I hadn't retired or had to come back to Fort Hood, then Villa Del Rey would be at the top of my list.
Lived at the sister complex around the corner, Villa Del Rey for 3 years until I retired from the military and moved back home. When I moved in...the surrounding neighborhoods looked questionable (it's very close to post) but the immediate area around VDR wound up being a nice little oasis. The immediate area was actually very quiet with a couple schools across the street and no problem neighbors.
Don't look back turn away. Stole my security deposit without giving any valid reason after 4 months, telling me each every month in 4 months that they will send it. Even made up about having a corporate office (ghost office) telling her that they decided not to send me back my remaining deposit without any reason. Charged me for half a month of rent before moving in and late fees when first month was already paid and haven't even lived in there for 1 month which I let go. Lied about 2 month lease which I let go. Bathtub was overflowing with fece water and bed bugs in the room. Above reviewers are associates, don't be scammed. Lucky that she is not reported to the police for fraudulent activities.
