I love how the community takes care of the veterans here. The cemetary hosts ceremonies at Memorial Day. They also do a ceremony to put out wreaths in Nov and take them up in Jan. Many come out to support these efforts. Thank you to the workers and all involved.

I traveled here in 2016 on personal business. I decided to explore the local area and discovered this remarkable military cemetery. The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery is a beautiful and well maintained final resting place for the brave souls buried here. The computerized locator system makes it easy to find a loved one's grave. There is also a number of poignant monuments on the grounds as well. As the dedication marker here states - Be silent and respectful. Here patriots rest.
I am a twenty six year retired Army combat veteran 12 B , with my last combat mission in Iraqi . I have several long time buddies that are entombed in these hollowed grounds. It is a very beautiful location over watching bell county.I will be joining my buddies here some day , for I have reserved a home here for my wife and myself. No Mission Too Difficult, No Sacrifice Too Great, Duty First !
My sister Lt. Q. Kay Branum was in the Army Nurse Corp during the Vietnam War and she requested to place in this Veterans Cemetery. I was so totally impressed with the staff and how they treated me and my family and friends. I felt real comfort that Kay was being put in the perfect place. She died so young and so unexpectedly. This wonderful, peaceful place was a great comfort to me.
