Most heartbreaking of all, there was a cockatiel all by himself with dirty water, spoiled food and no toys/stimulation of any kind, and was chewing the cardboard and it's own feathers out of boredom/depression. Imagine putting a toddler behind that glass; that's pretty much what that's like, and these sick people can't even give it Common pet treatment.
Just left this store. All the animals are in RUSTY cages. OLD cages at that. There are NO blankets in the cages for the animals so lay on. There are NO bottoms of the cages. Just holes. I tried to ask if I could donate blankets or but blankets for the animals, they said they don't have blankets to lay on because they will poop and pee on it, meaning, THEY DON'T TAKE THESE DOGS OUTSIDE. They live in there own poop and pee. This place needs to be shut down!!
I bought a dog from here and the next day I found a tick the size of a raisin. No way a tick can get that size within 24 hours. They refused to do anything about it and now my dog will have to live with a disease the rest of her life because of this store. All they said was return the dog she has a disease. Wouldn't even pay for the vet visit to do blood work to see if she has a disease due to the tick when the right answer should be they pay for the meds needed to treat the outbreaks from the disease.
Please go to one of the shelters around or even look on a fb pets page to find an animal that needs a loving home.
Had gotten a guinea pig from here and he had seemed fine when I took him home. The next day he was sneezing and had a runny nose. I called in and they had said they could refund me my money. When I got there they said there would be 35% taken off to "restock" him. I would say this place is just after your money more than service... seriously don't buy or support this place. Very disappointing.
Please don't support this cruel, inhumane business, that by the way, also picks up free dogs and sells them.
I went in when there were two employees and no customers, and it was obviously slow all day. ALL of the birds had dirty water, which clearly hadn't been changed that day. It doesn't matter if you have to do it 10 times a day: birds must always have clean water, because either they will get sick or not drink it at all.
My wife and I always shop in the Killeen Mall and go into this store. We have always had good experiences with the employees and have bought a Chiweenie puppy from them. She is very sweet and has been with us now for about a year. Our family loves that we have an animal that was cared for a lot better than a shelter and will continue to do business with them. The store selection is limited but that is because they have a limited space for items. but they do carry pet basics to get you started.
Also, the employees were talking to each other about running out of rabbit food, so they were gonna give them gineau pig food. Rabbits are pretty quick to die on the wrong diet, especially when designed for a very different animal. Speaking of, the rabbits were labeled mini lops, but we're obviously of a much larger breed.(mini isn't meant to be ironic)
